The Quadrilatero SpA was set up in 2003 to create an interlinked system of roads and infrastructures in the Marches and Umbria regions, connecting them to the main national and European systems; about 160Km of roads will be realized with a total investment of 2,094 million euros.

The idea behind the Quadrilatero project is to use some of the economic benefits that will be generated by the new infrastructures in advance, tapping them by means of “value capture” techniques, to provide financing for the work, as an alternative to toll charges.

To manage the complete investment program and to monitor the works progress a comprehensive project management system has to be designed and implemented for Quadrilatero SpA.

The scope of works includes the following activities:

  • Setting up of a PMS project management system, included hardware, software and development of software interfaces with existing systems.

  • Training program for Quadrilatero program management team, on project control.

  • Methodological and operational assistance in final design review, to minimize the risk of budget cost overruns.

  • Operational assistance on project control (general contractors’ planning and scheduling review and approval, physical progress monitoring, cost and funds management)

  • Assistance to bid and procurement procedures.

The above goals will be attained by a multi disciplinary team of C.LOTTI, RAMBOLL and CASINELLI joint venture in an expected time lapse of 18 months.
