Agrotec S.p.A was in charge of the construction of six pilot agricultural markets in different locations in the country, to be used for trading goods such as cereals, fruits, livestock etc.
Each market had a surface ranging from 500 to 3000 sqm (buildings) according to the destination, and was equipped with all the facilities such as bank offices, weighting station etc..
The markets were also equipped with a computerised system necessary for the administration and for the information exchange (mainly on prices / volumes offered / demand estimates) between the six markets and the national M.I.S. (Market Information System).
The assignment was to prepare the technical specifications, to select hardware and software, to study the data transmission methodology, to test and implement the equipment and the corresponding application software and to realise the networking of the markets.
