About 650 projects has been financed by the Italian government to prepare the GIUBILEO DEL 2000 for a total investment of more than 1,5 billions of dollars.
The joint venture Italconsult S.p.A. , Società Italiana di Monitoraggio S.p.A. and Infraplan was in charge of the program supervision.
The number of projects, their characteristics (from road pavement rehabilitation to guest houses edification, traffic control systems, paintings and “affreschi” restoration etc. etc.), the multiplicity of executing institutions and private companies led to a sophisticated and centralized monitoring and control system.
Information flow were analysed, procedures issued and an information system were designed and developed to monitor the advance of each project, to collect details and analyse the critical aspects for the efficient management of the whole program.
The system functions, apart from producing classical technical-economical situation and forecast reports for the whole investment program, produced a classification of the projects based on a simulation model built on several parameters such as completion time, complexity degree, status of the bureaucratic / legal accomplishments etc.
